1 Not-So-Secret Garden at the Red Hill Ranch too
Vendor Booth Information

We are definitely the "More" of Pop & Gran's Antiques and More! We are slow to change but gradually are gravitating toward a farmer's market approach as we grow our business. We really like selling "old stuff" and there is no telling what you will find inside our store. Seasonally, you'll find fresh fruits and vegetables grown in our very own garden. If we can get our courage up, we'll even have red, ripe native dewberries to sell! The wild vines are every where on our property and the ripe fruit is delicious. The only problem with this is that we compete for the berries against copperhead snakes which are not very friendly critters! We have plenty of them out here too. I talked to an old timer that grew up out here, and she fussed at me for leaving the berry patches alone! What she said to me was "girl, all you need is big stick or a hoe and just swing it into the vines before you bend down to pick the berries - those 'ole snakes'll move outta your way! All you gotta do is pay attention to what you are doing!" So we're pondering this. . .

We respect and enjoy all of God's creatures (even the ones we're scared of)! Most everything has a benefit to the environment and a purpose. Therefore we try not to harm or kill any living thing. We have a large flock of guinea hens that roam our property. They are great in the garden - they don't bother the vegetables but they do eat lots of insects. Guinea hens also hate snakes and they will chase them away from their territory and even kill them. The guineas are loud and obnoxious as they screech and yell when startled or when someone they are unfamiliar with approaches. They are quite comical during mating season as the rooster chases the hen round 'n round the yard for hours on end until finally she gives in, and then off they go, round 'n round again! But sometimes she gets tired of being chased and turns on the rooster and pecks him right between the eyes! Sunrises at the Red Hill Ranch are beautiful - makes you want to get up every morning to see the next one!
